King of the Ocean, King of...

Well for a quick description before I have to run to work (more on that latter)
It's an orca-lion...yep

I was thinking of mixing two top predators and orcas being top ocean predators would look cool. Mixing it with a lion might be interesting...I didn't know how to go about making such a thing so I just made a guess and quickly came up with something. No references were used. I made the creature look like it could be part of both land and sea and somewhat plausible. Giving it webbed feet seemed appropriate. A shorter, denser mane keeps it lion-like, but more reasonable.
My main reason for entering contests is to get me to draw/paint again. It really helps that I have a deadline to work towards and I think I will be entering in more now that I know I will have scanner access over the summer. Which is how I scanned this guy in...good 'ol graphics lab will be open next week, but I got some strings pulled to scan this one in today :3
so running around trying to find a good way to get the drawing on the interwebs for 3 hours payed off.
He was a bit rushed, but I'm happy he's finished
